Workshop Overview
Day 1 – Visual Foundations & Thematic Approach. The day begins with José’s introduction to his work and creative process, with a focus on composition, light, and narrative in both street and documentary photography. Each participant will share 5–10 images for a group portfolio review, helping to define individual interests and challenges. After lunch, the group will head out into central Lisbon for a guided photowalk. Participants will receive one-on-one support as they begin developing their personal visual themes. The afternoon includes independent shooting time, with José providing feedback throughout, followed by a group editing discussion and reflections on the day’s work.
Day 2 – Developing a Series & Final Presentation. Day two opens with a group reflection on the previous day. Participants will continue working on their chosen themes during a second photowalk through Lisbon, refining their visual approach and storytelling. In the afternoon, the group reconvenes at the faculty for a guided editing and sequencing session. With José’s help, participants will select and organise 8–10 images into a coherent narrative, culminating in a group review and final feedback session.
