MPB Photowalk Challenge 2025

with Efi Longinou

As part of the first edition of Lisbon Street Photo Fest, photographer Efi Longinou led a sold-out photowalk in partnership with MPB. Participants were invited to take to the streets of Lisbon with just one camera and one lens and creative limitations that encouraged instinct, observation, and intention.

The day's prompts were to focus on the colour redreflections and light and shadow — using these constraints as visual anchors to find structure within the city’s lively chaos. Through this exercise, photographers learned to look closer, to see patterns and relationships emerge. The importance of timing is often emphasised in street photography, but also of positioning yourself in ways that make that timing possible, creating the conditions for an interesting shot before it even happens.

But Lisbon had other plans. When the weather shifted, Efi reminded everyone not to overthink, and to adapt, stay playful, and enjoy the simple act of being out in the streets, photographing together. To notice the gestures and the overlooked, everyday elements of life in the streets.

After the walk, participants submitted their favourite images, with one ultimately selected as the winning shot, earning the participant a €500 MPB voucher to upgrade or add to their photography kit.
